Original Summary
I spent the last months building OpenPhysicsAI, an open-source physics lab: fluids, shocks, fire, heat, solids, sound, radar, orbits. I built it together with AI agents, which is also the idea behind the challenge: if AI can write physics, let's find out whose AI writes it best. There are 13 "flags", real experimental measurements that no simulator has predicted yet, plus 4 smaller trials to start with. You download it, improve it however you like (your own code, your own AI, any open-source solver), and open a pull request. A machine reruns it and scores it against the sealed measurements in a few minutes. If you win, your code gets merged and everyone gets it. The video is a space capsule at Mach 6, with the shock wave wrapping around it as it comes in. The step toward that flag is a smaller challenge that's open right now: the bow shock ahead of a sphere, where my best score is 45/100. The vortex street behind a cylinder is also open, at 65/100. I'm sure someone here can beat both. github.com/molanocortes/OpenPhysicsAI Would love your feedback, good or bad. submitted by /u/sebasmtl [link] [comments]
