Original Summary
The same carbonara can be 600 kcal at one place and 1,300 at the next. I track my food, and every time I ate out I was basically guessing. So I started building Calzone. What it does: - Point your camera at a menu (or upload a few photos of it) and you get calories, protein, carbs and fat for every dish, plus which ones fit what you have left for the day - Save the restaurant once and the menu is there next time you go - Snap a photo of your plate and AI logs it, or search a database of 3.5 million products if you'd rather log manually - Vitamins and minerals from what you ate, and a daily score you can share Menus never list portion sizes, so every dish shows a breakdown by component (fish, oil, veg and so on). You can see where the number comes from and adjust it if the portion looks off. Built with Expo / React Native, Supabase, OpenAI for reading photos and menus, Open Food Facts for the product database, and RevenueCat for subscriptions. It's in beta right now and launches on the App Store on 18 October. The waitlist is at calzone.fit if you want to try it. I'd love honest feedback on two things: Does the video make it clear what the app does in the first few seconds? If you track your food, would you trust a menu estimate, or would you always want to tweak it? submitted by /u/calzone_s [link] [comments]
