Eating out has gotten ridiculously expensive. $15 sandwiches, $18 pho, and somehow a normal lunch started feeling like a luxury. So we built CheapFoodMap.com — a free, crowdsourced map for finding good food under $10 at local restaurants. No chains. We’re at about 1,300 meals across the U.S. now, with a much denser collection in Dallas–Fort Worth. Unlike Google or Yelp just showing you “$,” every pin is for a specific meal deals with the actual price and date. A little context: I was laid off earlier this year after 18 years at the same company, and this became the project I decided to go all-in on.
