Original Summary

Vigília do Lampião started as a small experiment: could I make a survival game about Brazilian folklore that runs in any browser, with no engine? Ten days and 19 releases later, it has 12 playable characters, 29 creatures, 5 bosses, 4 maps, an online leaderboard, daily missions, and as of today an English version. Today's Beta 1 is the biggest update so far. What worked: Shipping small and often. Almost one release a day, and each one fixed something a player complained about the day before. Feedback inside the product. A feedback button in the game gets far more (and more honest) replies than asking on social media. Anonymous stats over guesswork. Seeing that the average run lasted about 6 minutes changed how I balanced the new features. Listening when it stings. The most common criticism was "it's just a Vampire Survivors clone". Beta 1 is my answer: the lantern became your health, the dark hides the monsters, and you lead a procession of lost souls home before sunrise. https://vigiliadolampiao.vercel.app/en What's the most useful piece of feedback you've gotten on a side project? submitted by /u/Leconcre [link] [comments]
