Original Summary

quick honest one from a solo founder who's still working on his first hundred users. last week was my best week yet on reach. one reddit post did about 25,500 views and my linkedin posts did about 1,200 impressions, so roughly 26,700 people saw something i wrote. i also got 43 replies, which is the part i was proudest of. then i checked my site analytics. three visitors all week, two from facebook and one direct. zero from reddit or linkedin. part of that is on purpose, because i don't drop links in posts or comments. but it showed me something i'd been avoiding, which is that there was no real path at all. the only way from a post to my product was a long walk through my profile to my site, and nobody was taking it. so what i'm testing now is a much smaller first step. instead of only asking people to try the app, i put together something free that's useful on its own and added it to my profile right alongside the app. it's early, but at least someone who liked a comment has somewhere to go that isn't a sales page. for those of you who've been here, what was the first step you put between your content and your product, and did it actually work? submitted by /u/Long-Reading-6514 [link] [comments]
