Original Summary

Hey everyone, I’m building Enomotia, a persistent browser strategy game set in ancient Greece. It’s currently in beta, and I’d like to share it with people who enjoy this kind of game. Ikariam is an inspiration: island cities, trade routes, alliances, and neighbours who can become either trading partners or rivals. You develop your cities and send ships across the Aegean, with production and journeys continuing while you’re offline. I use AI tools in development, including coding assistance and generated artwork. I understand the skepticism around that, particularly when it comes to depth, bugs, and whether a developer will stick around. I’m responsible for the game’s decisions and problems, and I’m happy to discuss specific things that need work. One recent focus has been the island view: making it easier to interact with neighbouring cities and handle actions like sending resources or troops directly from the city you select. There’s also a Founding Members list. The first 100 registered members will stay on that list permanently unless they choose to delete their own account. It’s a small way to acknowledge the people who joined at the beginning. That permanence applies to the list entry, rather than being a promise about beta progression. Since it’s a beta, feedback on confusing screens, bugs, and how the game feels to play is especially welcome. enomotia.net If you’ve spent time with Ikariam or similar browser games, what kept you coming back - and what eventually made you leave? submitted by /u/leventbali [link] [comments]
