Original Summary
I'm the developer behind Hola Cards, a Spanish learning app. The part of adding German support that took the most care wasn't translating the visible buttons. For the 1.26.7 release, I had to make the less visible surfaces consistent too: native iOS localization files, microphone/photo-library/tracking permission copy, version metadata, and the live-translation consent flow. I also added tests around the consent behavior instead of treating it as a string change. That was a useful reminder that “add a language” is really a product-surface audit. The new locale exposed places where the app still assumed English, and the privacy copy forced me to be more precise about what a permission actually enables. For developers shipping localized apps: what is the least obvious surface that has broken for you after adding a language? submitted by /u/Wats0n_D [link] [comments]
