Built a Mac and Windows app for freelancers. Projects, time tracking and invoicing in one local SQLite database. No cloud, no account, your data stays on your machine. The core insight that drove it: most freelance tools treat invoicing as a standalone thing. The useful version treats it as the output of the project workflow. Hours tracked on a project flow directly into the invoice without copying anything. Seven months since launch. 93 Mac downloads, 8 Windows installations in the first month. Two paying customers, both on Mac, both from App Store search. What worked for distribution: comments in Reddit threads where people were already frustrated with a competitor tool.
