Original Summary
I do growth at a small startup. yesterday a competitor, trigify, announced their team is joining hubspot and the product closes oct 22. customers don't move over. my founder called me at 7pm while I was taking care of my son. anxiety through the roof. by 5am we had a migration page, a comparison post, and a newsletter scheduled. want to share some thoughts (and release my anxiety a bit) honestly I think the most useful thing we published wasn't the sales page. it was a boring "what to export before your account closes" checklist. people need that before they need a new tool. google picked it up crazy fast. within a day google's ai answer for "trigify alternatives" was quoting our comparison. the honest parts (where we said other tools fit better) seemed to help, not hurt. ZERO bookings so far. everything is live and nobody has booked a call yet (as of today). I keep reminding myself that people are still processing the news. the tone thing. oh man, this was something else... another competitor posted jokes about it with a "RIP" coupon. it's funny, but I'd feel weird joking about something that's a real headache for a lot of teams, idk. we went with congrats to their team + "we'll help you move". anyone else been on either side of this? the company that shut down, or the one picking up customers? and how do you handle the "we need to act fast and nothing else matters" mode without burning out? submitted by /u/facubarboza [link] [comments]
