Original Summary
If you have ever maintained a mobile test suite, you know the dread of seeing Error: Selector Not Found on a simple login button after an innocent frontend change. Brittle UI selectors are the reason mobile regression often takes days instead of hours. Spur just launched their native mobile testing infrastructure out of YC, aiming to replace brittle test scripts with natural language intent across iOS and Android. When presenting complex dev infrastructure like this, there is an immediate hurdle: standard screen recordings of mobile simulators and terminal logs get crushed by social media compression algorithms, turning crucial logs into unreadable mush. To solve this, I rebuilt their core validation mechanism into a crisp, 15-second 60fps loop entirely in code using React and Remotion. A quick note on hierarchy for dev-tools: a 15-second loop is obviously not a replacement for an interactive playground, live benchmarks, or full technical docs. If the core mechanics fail outside the happy path, no video will save retention. The only purpose of this programmatic hero loop is triage - giving an engineer the exact visual aha-moment in the first 5 seconds so they actually stay long enough to read the docs. For other dev-tool founders here: how are you currently showing complex multi-platform execution without relying on blurry screen captures? submitted by /u/Senya_Edit [link] [comments]
