This is something I have been thinking about since Jev came out. It is very easy to use GPT/Claude for almost every decision because it works and it is easy to plug in. But once usage starts growing, those calls can add up fast and start taking a noticeable bite out of your margins. I have been looking at Jev and this is one area where it starts to make sense to me. Not as a replacement for GPT/Claude, but for the smaller decisions happening inside the workflow like routing, intent detection, tool selection, escalation, scoring, or choosing between a few possible actions. Even replacing some of those calls could save a good amount on cost and make things faster at scale. The only downside is adding one more model to manage, so I am still figuring out if the savings are actually worth it. Wondering how others are handling this.
