Original Summary
I'm Ty, the solo dev behind 22Tango. The clip is alpha footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hmZwwYZh0k&t=1s Why: I grew up playing games with my brothers and my dad, and I met some of my oldest friends through games. These days everyone's on a different schedule, so I built a co-op partner for the times when your friends are away but you still want to play. What it is: - A Windows app with three original characters (Morrigan, Mortimer, Specs), each with a 3D avatar on your desktop, its own personality and voice. Push-to-talk voice or text. - Memory across sessions, with a window where you can see, edit or delete what it remembers. - In Minecraft Java it joins your server as an actual player: follows you, fights mobs ("watch my back"), gathers on request ("grab 16 oak logs"). In Stardew Valley it shows up on your farm via a SMAPI mod. Working on bringing it into an ambitious Skyrim mod as well! How it works: the conversation runs on a cloud AI model. Speech recognition, the default voices (premium runs in cloud) and the avatar run locally; only text goes to the cloud and your data is saved locally. Gameplay will be supported either via mods or computer use. It's pre-release, with a free alpha I'm hand-picking testers for. Dev video and alpha link in the comments. Curious to hear anyone's thoughts on the app, the idea, or the tech. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments! submitted by /u/tymuska [link] [comments]
