Original Summary
I’m the person who built Framecast, so I’ll say that up front. We kept missing launch windows because the video work wasn’t “make a clip.” It was the same clip six times. Record the site. Cut the cookie banner. Put it on a laptop so it doesn’t look like a Zoom share. Then crop it again for Product Hunt, the OG image, LinkedIn, TikTok. By the time that was done the landing page had already changed. I don’t think most small SaaS teams need a motion designer. They need one master take that already looks like a product, not like a screen recording, and then they need every size out of that take. What I do now, even on sites that aren’t ours: I never start the clip on the nav. If the first frame is a logo I already lost the mute-scroll crowd. I treat widgets as part of the picture. A cookie bar in a “polished” mockup looks worse than a raw Loom. I stopped chasing the mouse. A smooth page scroll reads as the product. A cursor touring features reads as a demo. I capture once at something close to 16:10 and derive the rest. Recapturing because Instagram wants 9:16 is how you burn an afternoon. Framecast is just that workflow glued together: paste the URL or drop a recording, get the scroll, sit it on a display, export the sizes. https://framecast.framer.website/ I’m not looking for testers or DMs. I want the ugly version of how you ship this when there’s no editor on the team. Do you keep an old After Effects file and pray the UI still matches, or is it CapCut the night before? submitted by /u/Best-Consequence-996 [link] [comments]
