Hey everyone, For the past seven months I've been working on InputConfig which is a free, open-source Mac app that lets you map any controller to keyboard keys, mouse movement, and system actions. A big reason I built it is accessibility: if a keyboard and mouse are hard for you to use, you should still be able to play games and control your whole Mac. I originally created it for myself because my hands don't work and I needed alternative ways to play games and do some productivity stuff like flashcards when I was a student. A few months ago I released it to the Apple App Store It has become useful for other people since I released it to the store, I actually hear from my users every day But I can't test it thoroughly since I don't have every controller Some of what it can do: - Works with the PlayStation Access Controller and the Xbox Adaptive Controller, including accessories plugged into them - Use a controller as a mouse, including gyro pointing - Map MIDI gear, foot pedals, extra mouse buttons, the trackpad, or even areas of the screen. It can also output MIDI and keystrokes and macros - Press Scan, touch any button, and it's mapped Now that the infrastructure has matured, I wanted to ask for help. SO..... I can only test with the hardware I own. I want this to work reliably for people who depend on it, and I can't get my hands on every controller, adaptive device, or setup out there If you have a controller, adaptive device, or unusual input setup, I'd be grateful it if you tried it and told me: - What device you used and whether it was detected - Anything that didn't respond, felt laggy, or was just confusing - Anything that was hard to use because of how the app is laid out (small targets, too many steps, VoiceOver problems, etc.) - What you wish it could do And maybe it is useful for you as well.
