Original Summary
I'm a daily commuter (calicut route) and I kept falling asleep on the bus and missing my stop. Cost me time and money more times than I'd like to admit. So I built busnap — set a trigger distance (5km, 2km, 1km) from your destination, and when you hit it, your phone vibrates and rings an alarm. Works for any commute — bus, train, car, whatever. Building it wasn't the hard part — publishing was. I'm not an app dev, so I didn't have a Google Play developer account (costs a subscription). Rented one from haca tech school to get it up. Then came closed testing: 14 days, 12 testers, all keeping the app installed the whole time. Finding 12 Android users in this iPhone-heavy world was rough — ended up finding testers right here on Reddit, actually. It's live now: Site: busnap.mapki.in Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.busnap.app&pli=1 Open source too: https://github.com/amjadlle/Busnap Would love feedback, especially if you're a commuter who's had the same problem. submitted by /u/reputed_culprit [link] [comments]
