Original Summary

Hey everyone, looking for some brutal realism from restaurant owners or B2B SaaS founders. I’ve built a tool called Served. It’s an interactive digital menu where a guest can click their allergies (nuts, gluten, dairy, etc.) and the menu instantly live-filters what’s safe to eat. The goal is to stop the awkward waiter-to-kitchen interrogation and save servers and guests time. Here is my biggest roadblock: This is my first software product. I don't have a portfolio of other successful tools, I don't have case studies, and while I just got listed on Capterra, I don't have an established brand name yet. If I were a restaurant owner, I'd probably be terrified that a random dev's software would crash during a Friday night rush or leak data. If you were in my shoes, how would you build that initial trust from scratch? Do I offer to run a 100% free, fully managed pilot program where I manually input the menu and handle everything? Do I pitch local, tiny mom-and-pop shops first before touching busier places? Is there a specific insurance or security reassurance owners look for? I'm a developer, not a salesperson, so I’m trying to figure out how to bridge this trust gap without sounding like a sketchy cold-caller. Appreciate any advice! r/restaurateurs r/entrepreneur submitted by /u/Acquired_Taste_Sdio [link] [comments]
