Two days ago I posted here and in a dozen other subs about AirPost ( https://airpost.network/en): people in other EU countries keep a small amount of a webshop's stock at home and post the orders locally, so the shop gets a domestic label instead of a cross-border one. I got about 45 comments and most of them were some version of "this breaks the moment the host goes quiet or steals". Fair. So I spent the weekend building the boring parts instead of arguing: Prohibited goods are now written into the terms as their own section, plus a FAQ entry, instead of being implied. Weapons, drugs, cash, batteries loose in a box, anything that needs a licence. A sender who is asked to post that has something to point at. An offer to a sender now expires after 24 hours. Before that, an order could sit in someone's inbox forever. Now it falls back to the shop automatically and the shop gets a mail. Handover is on a clock: 24 hours after the label is bought the sender gets a reminder, at 48 hours the shop gets told, with timestamps on the order. After that 48 hour mark, if the parcel was never scanned by the carrier, the shop gets a reclaim button: the order is routed back to the shop's own address and marked as reclaimed. Freezing a sender and a sender changing their address are now system lines in the conversation, not silent database changes. What I deliberately did NOT build, because I think it is theatre at this size: insurance, a deposit, a value cap. If you disagree, that is the interesting argument. Things I know are still open and will say out loud before someone finds them: there is no returns flow at all, there is no per-SKU stock ledger yet, and "we will report theft" is a weak threat for a 150 euro box and I know it.
