Original Summary
I wasn't sure about the title or the community to publish this, because I wanted to talk about different topics. I've been publishing apps in my free time since 2014, just as a method to learn new technologies. In my non-free time I'm not a mobile dev but a front-end dev in companies. At first I wanted to just have something published available for everyone. Then I wanted to learn Ionic and other technologies. In 2019 I started with Flutter, and it was a big jump in terms of quality. Till here everything is fine. What is my problem? I don't get enough users for my apps . And because of this, not enough profit. I know there are 2 types of indie app developers these days: those making 20,000MRR and those making 0 (I won't count those losing money). I just wanted to write about the whole process I follow today with my apps, not only to help others but also to try to get some help and see if I could improve the process. Idea I will break this down in 2 parts: A) Something that I need: I don't care about keywords, competitors or any other numbers. I needed to have some kind of app to make my life easier, and it wasn't created. So I just decide to make it. B) A good idea: This is an idea I could have, but let's presume I search also for it. For that I have create some AI skills acting as an ASO expert, connected to an ASO tool using a MCP. Different skills are also used like another one searching for real user problems here in Reddit and other places. The ideas are evaluated based on the number of users, keywords, competitors, etc. and I got a list of possible ideas. Obviously it's just an idea with a % of success. From here I study the different competitors manually and see if I could have a chance Coding I won't describe this in detail. As I mentioned above, I use Flutter. Apps are available for Android and iOS (some of them for macOS). UI/UX needs to be good, attractive and easy to use. Really easy. I don't try to reinvent the wheel here. Store ASO and Screenshots I mentioned earlier the ASO skill. It also helps me write the content for each market. Screenshots are created in Figma, translated to all languages my app support (normally 6). I tried to do some A/B testing, but I don't have enough users. Website In order to improve the organic flow of users, I also created dedicated websites for each app. As well as the ASO skill, I have others for SEO. These websites talk about the app, describe some features and show the price. Pretty simple. I also use the domain for the email to make it look more professional. After the website is finished, I run SEO audits and fix the remaining parts. For these websites I also have created a /blog with a few articles. AdMob I hate constant ads in apps. Obviously I understand devs need to make some money, so we need to see them. I tried to find a common ground: ads are shown not too often, and I give users the opportunity to remove them for free. If they watch 3 reward
