Over the last few weeks I built out a set of small AI-powered APIs on Apify that each do one thing: you describe a situation (a job posting, a rental listing, a pet ad, an online store, a person you met online), and it researches it live via Google Search grounding through Gemini, then gives you a scam-risk verdict with the actual source URLs behind every claim — not a model just guessing from training data. The family so far: Job Scam Checker (catches check-cashing schemes, fake recruiters), Rental Listing Scam Checker (the "landlord is overseas, wire the deposit" pattern), Online Store Scam Checker (does a real domain-registration-age lookup alongside the AI check — a brand-new domain selling physical goods is one of the strongest objective scam signals there is), Pet Adoption and Romance Scam Checkers, and a Company/Person Verification API for due diligence. All pay-per-use (a few cents per check), no subscription. Built them mostly to see if "cited AI risk report" is a viable niche versus generic scam-checker tools that just hallucinate an answer.
