Original Summary

Started building with Shadcn like most people do these days. Components are solid, dev experience is great, no complaints on that front. But two things kept slowing us down. First, no official figma kit, so our designer would design something, then whoever built it would end up interpreting it slightly differently. Small mismatches piling up every sprint. Second, the ui blocks situation. Shadcn does have some, but only a handful officially, and everything past that is random third-party blocks of varying quality. No consistent source you can actually trust for full sections like pricing pages, dashboards, etc. Eventually we just built our own version that solves both, proper figma kit that stays in sync with the code, plus a proper set of official ui blocks on top of the base components. It took longer than we thought, but it's turned into an actual design system, not just a component folder.
