I was paying too much for Monarch Money and Copilot, so I built my own personal finance tracker. I am not looking to earn off of this, so this app is open source under an Apache 2.0 license. If you are up to it, you could sideload this app and just not use my app at all! Cairn is a free, open-source finance app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It has no subscription, account, ads, analytics, or Cairn-operated backend. Testflight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/zcmwDyef It supports: Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Apple Savings through FinanceKit Read-only bank sync through SimpleFIN. SimpleFIN cannot move any money. CSV imports On-device transaction categorization (no private-compute models, only on device) Optional iCloud sync between your devices, with encrypted fields so not even apple can see all of your data. Cairn is currently in public TestFlight beta. I’m looking for people who actively manage their finances to try it with real workflows and tell me what is confusing or broken.
