Original Summary
(context i only work with b2b client) so I had a meeting recently where a guy kept insisting, “I don’t need content. I need GTM. he is here B2C And I was like, does this guy know what he is saying? 😭 now this guy is d*mb i dont think bro knows what gtm is but let me explain what gtm is and why u also need content anyways GTM is about figuring out the whole growth system: who to sell to, which channels to invest in, what competitors are doing, how to build the lead pipeline, and where automation fits. Especially in B2B, you don't need 2,000 random leads. You might need 4-5 high-retention clients who actually believe in your offer. If your only goal is leads, sure, focus on Reddit, email, outbound and a bit of LinkedIn. But here’s where content matters alot which i was explaining this guy Content isn't your lead pipeline but you know what it is? its your trust builder A lead can book a call through automation, but before signing, they willl check your LinkedIn, website, case studies and content everyewhere specially in B2C i mean why do people use eleven labs or wisprflow because they hella do so much marketing not just performance but influencer marketing and organic content too but for B2B SaaS, that matters even more. You're not selling a $20 impulse purchase. You are asking a company to trust your product with their money, workflow and sometimes their entire operation. I work in both GTM and content, and content takes time. Usually 3-6 months to really change visibility and positioning. I have seen clients go from 3K to 10K followers in a few months through consistent content. And yes, serious multi-channel lead gen can cost $2K-$5K+ because of tools, data, automation and execution but Good content builder umm maybe you cost $550-$850 and u all set So no, GTM and content aren't competing strategies, GTM gets people into the room but butttt Content gives them a reason to trust you once they are there. as some who create content every day, i know its powerr its alot then u think and its non linear and honestly, the top clients are still the ones who invested in content early and maintained that Attaching a screenshot to show you how content can reach 1M+ people. Your lead pipeline might only reach a few thousand. Good things cost money and effort and ofc B2B SaaS is no different. Hope this post helped you understand why, as a B2B client, you still need content in your pipeline. It’s a cutthroat market, and your content can become your unfair advantage. submitted by /u/Spiritual-Juice-8077 [link] [comments]
