Original Summary

We released BreWorld last August. There were 87 users who opened it that first month. We now have 199 users as of last week and a little less than 300 in total. While those are relatively low numbers compared with many apps — they are going up and that is all i cared about. The concept behind Brew World is to be able to locate a good coffee shop nearby and also to tell others what coffee you are currently drinking. Users can add photos of their cups, browse through photos of cups posted by others in your area, and then discover coffee shops that would normally be beyond the walk-in distance of where you live or work. I did not anticipate that i would personally use Brew World so frequently. Many times per week i post images of the cup(s) i am drinking. Often i will scroll through posts made by others to see what else they are drinking. Before going somewhere i have never been i typically type in the name of my location to get an image map showing the nearest Brew World posters (coffee drinkers). Building a product that people enjoy using, even when it does not necessarily offer anything new, is a strange sensation that i have found to be truly enjoyable.   submitted by   /u/artefan [link]   [comments]
