Hey all, In the past few months I have been developing PaidLane ( paidlane.app ), an app which provides quoting and invoicing facilities for individual traders such as plumbers, electricians, builders, tilers, gardeners and mobile mechanics. The notion arose from observing the amount of administrative work that solo traders end up carrying out on Sunday nights - quotes that are written in someone's kitchen and then left aside, and invoices which have been sent weeks earlier and for which no one has followed up because doing so would feel like begging. What it does: Write a quote on your phone in about a minute, straight from your price list You can send it via WhatsApp or text message; the customer then taps the Accept option on the link, without needing to have an app or an account. Accepted quotes go into your job diary Turn a quote into an invoice with one tap when the job's done Automatic payment reminders that stop as soon as they pay Works with no signal and syncs when you're back in range It is purposely kept simple since there is no need for a dispatch board or crew scheduling because the program is designed for the person who works in the office. What I'd really love feedback on: Is it clear from the landing page what the thing does and who it is for? What is there that would prevent you from using it? Would $29 a month (or $19 as the initial price for the first 50) be a reasonable amount for this? What is it that you're using at the moment, and what do you dislike about it?
