Original Summary
I built a mobile training tool in a competitive niche. Launched it with an upfront paywall at first, but realized quickly it was too much friction for an unproven app. I took the paywall down and gave it to people directly for free. Reached out to 7/8 people 5 of them took to it and have put in about 3 hours between them over the past week, using it consistently every day. Now that the core tool is showing real engagement, I’m planning the next steps and would love some perspective from anyone who’s monetized a mobile app. What’s a realistic milestone where you have enough signal to test pricing? I’m planning a dedicated section with deep coach breakdowns and leak analysis. Would you gate that advanced utility, or are daily usage caps better for building habit first? I'm considering putting about €300/month into Apple Search Ads and Google Ads to test top-of-funnel conversion. Is €300/mo enough to get useful data at this stage, or is it a waste until the funnel is fully proven organically? Appreciate any advice from folks who’ve navigated this jump. submitted by /u/EmploymentProud3436 [link] [comments]
