Had a 30 minute call with someone today and went through his app We talked through the product the offer and the marketing strategy And I gave him my honest opinion It wasnt all positive I pointed out where I thought the offer was weak where I thought the marketing would struggle and what I thought needed to change before he threw more time and money at it He actually took it really well and was grateful for the feedback But afterwards I sat there thinking did I actually help him or did I just kill his dream Ive been in business long enough now that I feel confident giving honest feedback but there is always that fine line between being helpful and being the person who tears someones idea apart Personally I would rather someone tell me the hard truth early than let me spend 6 months finding it out the expensive way But maybe thats just me Would you rather hear the hard truth about your business idea or would you rather someone encourage you and let the market decide   submitted by   /u/divvychugsbeer [link]   [comments]
