Original Summary
You’ve built a product and you’re proud of it. It looks amazing, and you know there’s a real need for it because you’ve already analyzed the market. But then one simple question comes up: how will people actually find out about it? Pretty simple: you need marketing and growth. But to achieve that, you need money, even if you decide to do the marketing yourself. And if you don’t have enough money, you need investors. Pretty simple, right? And this is where a closed growth loop appears. Investors want to see product-market fit: retention, MRR, and enough traction in general. But to demonstrate product-market fit, you need marketing and money. And to get the money, investors want to see product-market fit. 🤷♂️ Of course, if you have a solid track record, successful exits, a previous successful product, or wealthy friends, you may be able to get around this problem. But if it’s your first product, things can be much harder. I think this is especially relevant for SaaS products. Nowadays, anyone can build a product, especially with AI. But actually finding a place in the market and gaining traction is still difficult. And yeah, I’ve run into this cycle myself, and it’s been a good reminder that building a product is only half the battle. submitted by /u/Evening-Bit-8427 [link] [comments]
