Original Summary

Finally built the thing I kept wanting myself! 😅 I got tired of texting my housemates “did you get milk?” So yes, that became a whole app. It is called Tillsa, short for “tillsammans”, which means “together” in Swedish. Shared shopping and to do lists that sync properly. No account needed for your own lists. The idea is pretty simple. A list you can trust, shared with the people who need it. Tick something off in the shop and it disappears from everyone's list within seconds. No refreshing. No “wait, did you see my text?” A few things I really cared about when building it. It works offline. Every change saves to your device first, then syncs when you are back online. So you can keep going with your shopping down in the shop basement. No spinner there. Your data stays yours. Your lists live in your own iCloud and sync between your Apple devices through there. The only time list data touches our servers is when you share with someone who is not on iCloud. You can use it on your own without an account. You need one when you want to share a list or edit one someone shared with you. And no ads, no tracking, no analytics. That felt important to me. Then there are themes to group things under Food, Hardware, whatever makes sense for you. Type “milk” and it lands under Food automatically. You can export to Markdown too. And share with people on Android or in a browser. It is free, with no limits on lists or items. A free account lets you share up to 5 lists. Premium is $22.99 a year and gives you unlimited shared lists and sharing links that work on any device. Those are the only differences. No feature creep planned. I want to keep it simple. Would love to hear what you think! Especially if you have tried sharing shopping lists before. What usually goes wrong? What gets frustrating when everyone is trying to use the same list? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tillsa/id6811369699 submitted by /u/statecs [link] [comments]
