Original Summary

I’m 25. A little while ago I left my job because I wanted to build something of my own. Before that I had already worked a regular job, and I realized I really don’t want to go back to that kind of pressure and limitation if I can avoid it. I built two products. One was a SaaS product that I launched around last November, and the other was a free movie-related website. Before launching the SaaS, I was genuinely excited. I had all these ideas in my head about how I would get users, how I would grow it, and how things would move after launch. But after actually launching, I realized building the product was not the hardest part for me. Getting users was. The SaaS is still online, but I removed the payment method from it. I also tried to sell the whole product, but most places I found wanted listing fees of around $70, $100, sometimes even $150, with no guarantee that the product would actually sell. At that point I didn’t feel comfortable putting more money into something without knowing if it would lead anywhere. The other free project has a different problem. There’s no payment issue there, but getting traffic itself is difficult. Last year I made some money from my job, so I’m not saying I have absolutely nothing, but I’ve already spent money on tools, domains, experiments, and trying different things. Because of that, I’m now much more hesitant to pay upfront for channels, listings, promotion, or anything else without knowing if they actually work. One thing I kept thinking about after launching was that if someone could bring me an actual paying customer, I would happily share part of that revenue with them. Paying for a real result makes sense to me. Paying first and then hoping something works feels very different, especially when you don’t have much room to waste money. I’m not trying to pitch either of my products here. This is more about what I’ve been feeling recently. There are so many products being launched now that sometimes it feels like there are more products fighting for attention than there are users willing to try another one. You can spend weeks or months building something, launch it, and then suddenly realize you have no reliable channel to get it in front of the right people. I’m honestly confused about what I should focus on next. Should I keep trying to make one of these products work, sell the old SaaS somehow, or start something completely different? Is anyone else in a similar situation? You can build the product, but after launch you struggle to find users or a customer acquisition channel that actually works without constantly paying upfront. Have you found any workaround for this, or anything that genuinely helped you get through this stage? Or also you r stuck in the same place? submitted by /u/xyoddha [link] [comments]
