Original Summary

I’ve been collecting tool info for months because I kept running into the same problem. Almost every “ Top AI Tools 2026 ” or “Best Developer Tools” article feels the same tools, same vague descriptions, no real pricing, and zero transparency about when the info was last checked. So I started putting together a public list myself. It’s now at around 36,000 tools (AI, developer, open source, SaaS). What I tried to do differently: Show actual source links Note how recent the data is Include real pricing info instead of just “freemium” Flag when something is unclear or missing It’s still rough and incomplete in a lot of places, but it’s already more useful to me than most of the directories out there. Site is oryxen.in if anyone wants to check it. Would actually appreciate feedback. What’s the most annoying thing you deal with when researching tools? Or what would make a directory like this actually worth using? submitted by /u/kaviyarasu56 [link] [comments]
