Original Summary
There’s a weird stage of dating in India that I don’t think we talk about enough. You want a serious relationship. But you don’t want every match to feel like: “Salary?” “Caste?” “Parents involved?” “Shaadi kab karni hai?” At the same time, you’re exhausted by the other extreme — endless swiping, situationships, ghosting and people saying “let’s see where it goes” for the next 8 months 😭 Basically: Too serious for casual dating. Not ready to turn dating into a marriage interview. I kept seeing this gap and eventually decided to build something around it. I called it Manzil — a marriage-minded dating app where the intention is a long-term relationship, but people still get to actually date, talk and choose their partner themselves . I’m still early and figuring a lot of things out. The biggest question I’m struggling with is whether this “middle” is actually a distinct problem or whether existing dating/matrimony apps already solve it well enough. So rather than pitching the app, I’m curious: Does this middle ground actually resonate with you? And if you’ve tried both dating and matrimony apps in India, what frustrated you the most? submitted by /u/iammofidul [link] [comments]
