Original Summary
Most workout trackers feel like spreadsheets to me. Games don't. So I built the tracker I wanted: Quest2Fitness, an iPhone app where your real lifts are the combat. How it works: You log weight and reps like any tracker. Damage is weight times reps, so heavier sets hit harder. Each exercise is a fight, and the last set is the boss. You pick a companion (a dragon, a direwolf, or a winged temple cat) and it levels up as you train. Bosses drop loot, and there's a forge for upgrading weapons and armor. When you're ready for more weight, it shows you the next 5 lb jump. Between workouts your companion goes on expeditions, and you can decorate its lair. The normal tracker stuff is in there too: built-in routines (full body, upper/lower, push/pull/legs), a rest timer, PRs, streaks, volume stats, and optional export to Apple Health. A few things I cared about. It works offline. There's no account, no ads, and no subscription. It's $6.99 once. I know paid upfront is a harder sell than freemium, but I didn't want to make another app that nags you to subscribe. Site with a 50 second walkthrough: https://quest2fitness.com App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/quest2fitness-workout-rpg/id6769663664 I'd love honest feedback on two things. Does the RPG layer sound motivating to you, or like a gimmick? And is one time pricing the right call for an app like this? submitted by /u/chunkinthetrunk [link] [comments]
