Original Summary

The problem: I bookmark a lot of posts and get almost nothing back from them. A bookmark is a URL and a title, so six months later it's "(1) X" and I have no idea what I saved. A good share of them are dead anyway — account went private, post deleted, image CDN link expired. What I wanted to keep was the content, and a bookmark doesn't keep content. What I built: SocialClipper captures the entire post — full text, the images downloaded onto your machine, the video poster frame, author, timestamp, original URL — and files it in a library inside the extension with search, tags, notes, and export to JSON, CSV or Markdown. It works on X, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. The clip above is the whole flow, unedited: a post, the capture card, then the library. The part that might interest this sub more than the feature list: It used to have a 50-save cap, and it quietly created an account on my server the first time you opened it — so "no account needed" wasn't actually true. I deleted both. Saving is now local-first: posts go into IndexedDB in your own browser, unlimited, with no network call at all. The cap is gone because I was charging for a limit on your own disk, which costs me nothing to provide. The paid tier ($4.99/mo) is only the cloud — backup, sync across machines, and public shareable walls. That inversion cost me the only forced conversion moment I had. Nothing now blocks you before the point where you decide you don't want to lose your library. I think it's the right trade, but ask me again in six months. The honest caveat: local saves die when you clear your browsing data. That's the trade for no account and no limit, and since it's also the entire upgrade argument, I put it in the UI instead of burying it.
