Original Summary
I’ll start with a very personal backstory, even though writing this is already scary af I tried NNN about a year ago and had pretty mixed feelings about it by the end. For the first few days, I didn’t notice any changes. Then, about a week in, I suddenly got insanely productive - I started seeing my friends more, pushed through the awkwardness and made a Tinder profile, went to the gym for the first time, and even approached a girl on the street (with mixed results)! And then it got really bad. It would take me like 2 hours to fall asleep, and without melatonin I could barely sleep because of intrusive thoughts. I ended up making it through the whole month and realized nofap just isn’t for me and I physically can’t quit 🍆 But I really liked that productive state I’d get after the first few days of abstaining, so I thought: why not milk it for all it’s worth?? There has to be some way to tie access to 🍆 to real-life achievements and long-term goals. What if I write down all the tasks I normally have zero motivation to do, give each one a point value, and only let myself 🍆 once I hit 100? Yeah, literally like training a dog by giving it a treat for doing a trick. But I’m basically just a smart monkey at the end of the day anyway And that’s how eggplant.love was born - you add quests, decide how many points each one is worth, and once you hit 100, you can 🍆. Over time, the point values of the quests adjust to keep you motivated, and you end up doing things you never had the energy for before If you like the idea and want to see where this goes, or even try it yourself, join the waitlist on eggplant.love PS: Writing this post was scary as hell, but you know what helped? Knowing that the second I hit “Post” I get the 30 points I’m short of :) submitted by /u/Sad-Face5943 [link] [comments]
