I made a small Windows network speed monitor called TinyNetUse. It started because I just wanted one of those small download/upload speed displays sitting on my desktop. I used to use NetSpeedMonitor but it's last update was in late 2019, and it wasn't working properly anymore. I found a few things that were either way more than I needed or just weren't really what I wanted, or I had to pay a premium for it, so I figured I'd make my own. That was supposed to be pretty much the whole project lol. It grew a bit since then. You can move and resize the overlay, make it click-through or always on top, and I eventually added a graph for when I actually want to see what's been happening instead of just the current speed. I've been using it myself for a while and I'm at v1.3.0 now, so I figured I might as well put it out there and see if anyone else has a use for it. It's free and open source: https://github.com/laween-alsulaivany/TinyNetUse There's an installer and a portable version. It doesn't collect telemetry or need an account. I've only properly tested it on Windows 11 so far. Also the releases aren't code signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will probably complain when you run it. The source and checksums are both on GitHub. And since AI use is obviously a touchy subject with software projects right now: yes, I used AI during development. I also understand, debugged, changed, and maintain the code myself. This isn't something I generated once and dumped onto GitHub.
