A few of my foreign friends have asked me about BaZi, Five Elements, Feng Shui and other Chinese traditions over the years.I grew up around some of this stuff, so I always thought it would be pretty easy to explain.It wasn’t.A lot of these ideas are already complicated in Chinese, and translating them directly into English sometimes makes them even harder to understand. So I started building a small website, mostly to see if I could explain BaZi in a simpler way without turning it into a generic zodiac quiz.I let a few people try it. The response was better than I expected, and a couple of them even asked if I was planning to make an app. It’s still a small project, but that was honestly pretty motivating.I’d like to keep working on it and eventually try the same approach with other parts of traditional Chinese culture.
