Original Summary
with every third person being an AI founder now, everyone is just someone re-explaining their own project to three different AI tools every morning, which sucks what i noticed is that - 1/Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT each keep their own version of you, and none of them agree. 2/ Cloud memory feels great until you read what it actually stores about your day. 3/Once I saw my own workday sitting on someone else's server, I wanted it off there. 4/Memory alone is a diary. Even when the AI remembered everything, I was still doing every step myself. 5/People forgive a bug faster than a privacy surprise 6/ a CLAUDE md or Cursor rules file kept my coding sessions from asking what stack I'm on every time. Claude Projects held my docs for long writing sessions. Obsidian gave me a local notes vault I could actually search. All three worked inside their own walls. None of them followed me from one tool to the next, and all of them depended on me updating them by hand. 7/ Going on-device forced me to decide what to forget. Capturing everything sounds great until you have to justify all of it sitting on a laptop. The list of things I chose to skip shaped the product more than any feature I added. Curious what all of u are doing to carry context between AI tools. What's working for you?? submitted by /u/Formal_Art4716 [link] [comments]
