Hey everyone, Abhishek here. I built Assist out of frustration. I was using the native Mac screenshot app to crop screenshots and send them to Codex, along with a long prompt I had to type. That's fine once, but doing it 100 times a day got frustrating. Now I hold the Option key and annotate while speaking. A local model transcribes my voice and creates a prompt I can copy and send to Codex, Claude Code or anywhere. Assist is a native macOS notch app, so when I take a screenshot, a quick editor appears right there with crop, blur and style. All data is stored locally.
