I've just shipped a side project I've been working on called Shoto. The idea came from a really simple problem: when you're taking photos of yourself, there's nobody behind the camera deciding when to press the shutter. A timer solves the shutter part, but then you still end up taking loads of photos and going through them manually. Shoto turns that into one short session: prop up the phone, press Start, move and pose naturally, and it captures multiple moments and returns a small selection of the strongest ones. The interesting technical constraint I gave myself was that photo analysis had to happen on-device. I'm using Flutter for the app and a native iOS camera/computer-vision layer underneath it.
