Yes I booked Chongqing during Golden Week. Then Vietnam in monsoon season. Both times I told myself never again. Turns out never again is not a plan. The underlying problem is that travel guides answer "where" and the thing that ruins a trip is usually "when". I asked an AI when to visit Chongqing and it said October: mild temperatures, autumn colours, comfortable days out. All true, and it left out the fact that the entire country is on holiday that week of October I wanted to visit. Not wrong, just useless for the decision I was actually making. So I did it the slow way instead. Three months of evenings and weekends turned into four years of dated public holidays, festivals and seasonal peaks for 180 destinations across 20 countries, each one sourced and weighted, organised into 2,000+ pages. You give it a destination and your exact dates, it scores weather, crowds, prices and comfort, weights the bad days harder than the good ones, and points at a better week when yours is rough. The scoring is deterministic TypeScript over validated data. AI agents help gather and challenge research before release, but nothing improvises an answer at runtime, so the same dates always produce the same result and every warning can point at its evidence.
