That is small, but the interesting part is what was expensive in a simple idea The product in one sentence: translated subtitles on your video call, in the browser, without a bot joining the meeting. It works in Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex, Slack and a dozen other places 1. Sound, not AI. Recognition was the easy part, you pick a provider. The hard part was getting clean sound from a browser tab and keeping it while people switch tabs, mute and share screen 2. Two providers cost more than one. I used one service for speech and another for translation. Subtitles update several times a second so the same sentence went to translation again and again. One hour of a call cost about $2.55. One provider that does both brought it to $0.18, and the translation got better 3. The store page in 49 languages. Search in the store works per language, and this boring work brought more installs than any feature The worst part: I had a bug in how minutes were counted. The timer started when the connection opened, not when the first subtitle came. So a silent tab still used people's free minutes. I found it in my own stats.
