Original Summary
Hi everyone, I’m Jesper, the developer of Wasabi Walk. It’s a side project that lets workplaces, clubs and groups of friends run their own team walking competitions. Everyone’s everyday steps contribute to their team’s total, and teams compete to see who can walk the most. Here’s how it works: An organizer creates an event on the website and shares an invitation code. Participants join and use the iPhone or Android app. Teams are formed automatically, or the organizer can arrange them manually. Steps sync from participants’ health apps, and everyone can follow the team leaderboard. The organizer manages everything from their browser. There’s also a results presentation for revealing the winners at the end. Adding your own small prize for the winning team makes it more fun. I’ve built the mobile apps, backend and organizer website, and it’s now ready to use. I’m running a free pilot for a limited time, and anyone is welcome to create an event. If you were considering running this with your colleagues or friends, what would you want to know before inviting everyone? submitted by /u/Lasrod [link] [comments]
