Original Summary

Everyone asks the same question-> "How do i find a good idea?" I spent months reading playbooks, browsing threads, analyzing markets. Then i stopped looking for an idea and i started paying attention to my own pain. THE PAIN i was running a small online business doing around $11k MRR. Nothing life changing but enough to feel real. Then the notifications started: "Subscription cancelled" x3 lol $11k become $10.2k. Then $9.4k. then $8.6k. And i had absolutely no idea why. No warning before they decided. No real reason when they left. No chance to say anything in the moment. I tried the obvious things: Emailed churned customers, 1 in 10 replied Built a cancellation survey, most skipped it. Offered manuals discounts. Too late, too random. I was always reacting after the decision was made. THE REAL PROBLEM After 3months of bleedin I finally asked myself the right question. Not "how do I reduce churn" But "why do I have zero visibility into what's happening before the cancellation?" That's exactly when everything shifted. Most founders I know measure churn. Very few actively manage it as a revenue system. And there's a massive difference between the two. Measuring churn is looking at your MRR dashboard and watching a number go down. Managing it as a revenue system means: - Knowing who is about to leave before they decide - Having a precise intervention for every customer segment - Turning every cancellation into data that makes your product better The cancellation is never the problem. It's the symptom. The real problem is the 2-3 weeks before the cancellation where signals are screaming and nobody is listening. Failed payment 2 weeks ago-> i didn't notice. Downgraded last month-> saw the notification, moved on. Usage dropping week over week-> no idea, i wasn't tracking it. Each signal alone means nothing. Combined they're a customer telling you something is seriously wrong. I was deaf of it. THE SYSTEM I BUILT I stopped looking for a market opportunity and build the tool i wished existed. Because i was the customer, I had the problem every month and nothing out there solved it the right way. Retention is not a moment, it's a system. And it happens across 3 layers: LAYER 1: Early detection Who's at risk right now, before they even think about leaving? We combine billing signals(failed payments, downgrades, trial behavior...), usage signals(last login, session frequency, feature adoption...) and account profile(tenure, plan, MRR) into a real-time score per customer. The goal: know 2-3 weeks before they decide. Not react after they've gone. LAYER 2: Precision intervention When a customer reaches the cancel moment, the intervention must be precise. Not random. Most of cancel flow tools present the same offer to everyone. That's not retention strategy, that's hoping something sticks. Real retention means: Your trial customer get a trial extension not a disco
