I’ve been building an Android notes app and wanted to try a different way of organising notes: a sort of memory palace. It’s a 3D orbit with 16 spaces that I name myself Work, Home, Ideas, whatever makes sense to me. Tap a name and the orbit rotates to that space. Each space has fixed spots for notes. I can give a note an icon, colour, or image thumbnail, then put it where I want. Nothing gets automatically re-sorted later, so if I remember that something was in the top-right corner of Work, it will still be there. There’s also a voice assistant that can run over other apps. I can ask it to play an old voice note or open a text note without remembering the exact title. It uses RAG over my notes and audio transcripts, then either starts the recording in the background or opens the relevant note in the app. Regular folders and search are still there. This is more for the few notes where I remember the place or image before I remember the words. The video only shows the orbit and arranging notes for now. Would you actually use something like this, or would it feel like too much effort for notes?
