I'm a general dentist in a rural Texas town of just under 4,000 people. Over 26 years in the chair, and I don't write code. This got built over the past year with one developer, a lot of late nights, and 14 App Store rejections before it went live. The problem. A 2016 study in the Journal of the American Dental Association measured the pH of 379 beverages sold in the US and found 93% of them below pH 4.0. Plenty of those look healthy on the label. Patients ask me "is this one okay?" every day, and for most of my career the honest answer was "I'd have to look it up." What it does. Scan the barcode. You get a Dental Fitness Score™ out of 100 built from the drink's acidity, sugar per serving, carbonation, alcohol, and whether it carries fluoride, calcium or phosphate — plus a plain-English tier and a swap suggestion when the score is poor. The scoring method is published in full so anyone can check the math (link in the comments). What it doesn't do. It doesn't count calories and it isn't a diet app. It isn't finished, either — the catalog has gaps, and when it can't find something, I want the barcode.
