Original Summary
It opens an existing project folder, follows relative links, and renders equations and Mermaid diagrams. Files stay where they are, and the reader refreshes when you save changes. There’s a short demo here: https://github.com/m-kim-dev/halite The free Linux x64 preview is available as a .deb or portable archive. Both include the runtime, so you don’t need Node installed: https://github.com/m-kim-dev/halite/releases/tag/v0.1.0-preview.1 This is an early preview. It has quick open, reading history, light/dark themes, and expanded diagram views. It doesn’t yet have tabs, full-text project search, a desktop find bar, or automatic updates. The source is MIT-licensed. I’m considering $19 one-time downloads for the finished desktop release to support packaging and maintenance. The current preview is free, with no expiry or activation requirement. If you read technical Markdown on Linux, I’d appreciate feedback on installation and whether this fits your workflow. What would make you use it alongside your current editor? You can reply here or join the preview discussion: https://github.com/m-kim-dev/halite/discussions/1 Choose an appropriate flair if required, review the formatting, and click Post. Send me the resulting post URL afterward so we can track feedback. submitted by /u/bd6696 [link] [comments]
