Original Summary
I’ve been building a Windows download manager called LemonDrop , and I’ve reached the point where I need people other than me to seriously test it. I’m the developer, so this is self-promotion, but I’m mainly posting because I want real feedback, bug reports, and criticism before I keep expanding it. The idea behind LemonDrop was simple: I wanted one Windows app that could handle normal file downloads, browser downloads, supported public video downloads, and audio extraction without having to jump between several different tools. Right now it supports: Downloading direct files such as PDF, Word, Excel, ZIP, EXE, APK, images, and more Downloading supported public videos as MP4 Extracting audio as MP3 Choosing from available video resolutions and audio qualities Pause and resume when the source server supports it Download history, speed, progress, and estimated remaining time Multi-connection downloading with up to 32 connections when supported Automatic reduction of connections when a server starts rate-limiting requests Chrome download capture Sending links to LemonDrop through the Chrome extension and right-click menu A compact download control on the main YouTube player English and Arabic interface Light and dark modes At the moment, LemonDrop supports Windows 11 64-bit . There’s no LemonDrop account required. The full Premium version can be tested free for 15 days , and no payment card is required. I’m especially interested in feedback about: Downloads that fail Websites or servers that behave strangely Resume problems Chrome integration Download speed UI/UX problems Features that are confusing Features you expected but couldn’t find Crashes or error messages Anything that would stop you from using it regularly I’m also giving 10 lifetime licences to the testers who provide the most useful bug reports, technical feedback, or product suggestions during this beta. No purchase is required. You can try it here: https://ai4edutech.com/apps/lemon-drop/ A few limitations are worth mentioning: available quality, download speed, resume support, and multi-connection acceleration depend on the original website or server. LemonDrop can only use capabilities that the source actually provides. Please only download content that you own or have permission to save. I’d genuinely appreciate criticism more than compliments at this stage. If you test it, tell me what worked, what failed, and what you think I should improve next. If you test LemonDrop, feel free to leave feedback in the comments or send me a Reddit DM. If you find a bug that needs screenshots, logs, or longer testing, DM me and I can share my WhatsApp contact. submitted by /u/Excellent-Umpire8626 [link] [comments]
