very reply tool I tried writes in the same voice competent, slightly formal, mildly enthusiastic. Fine once. Terrible forty times, to forty people who all know how you actually sound. So tonebird keeps a card per person instead. Not their job title how you write to them. Three lines and no greeting for one contact. Something warm first for another. When a message comes in it drafts against that card. Three things it deliberately doesn't do: It never sends. You always get a draft and you press send yourself. No autopilot mode, and I'm not adding one. It defaults to shorter. Match your usual length or go under. It will not turn two lines into five paragraphs. It runs locally. Your sent mail is how it learns your voice, and that stays on your machine. Two things I got wrong early. The first version summarised the incoming email before drafting nobody wanted that, they'd already read it, they were stuck on the reply. And the first version wrote longer than people would have, which turns out to be the single thing everyone hates about AI email. free while it's in beta I'd rather hear where it breaks than hear that it's cool.
