Original Summary

I’ve been building Named Atlas — namedatlas.com It’s a shared sky you can zoom into. Galaxies, sectors, systems, planets. Anyone can keep a named place on it as a public presence: a name, a short transmission, a link off-world. Visitors drop by, leave a guestbook note, move on, that's the theory at least. I'm really interested in turning it into a marketing tool where brands, indie studios, etc can stake their claim in an address, and turn visits into their own website traffic - that's where I am trying to see if pricing makes sense - I've got to pay the bills somehow. Still early. Only a handful of places are lit. That part is awkward and also kind of the point right now. If you open it: does “buy a slice of the stars” make sense in the first ten seconds, or does your brain still go “oh, he’s selling pixels”? Be honest. That’s the bit I’m worried about. Happy to take screenshots questions too if the live map is slow on your phone. submitted by /u/antariszx [link] [comments]
