Original Summary

so ive been going through b2b saas sites most of this year, lost count somewhere around forty, and im just going to say the thing out loud because its the same thing every single time go open your case studies page and find the most specific number on it, the one where somebody wrote "cut reconciliation from 9 days to 4" or whatever the version of that is for you then go read your homepage headline, and i already know roughly what it says, comprehensive platform, modern teams, something in that family so the number is downstairs and the category sentence is upstairs, which i think is just backwards and i do get why it happens, ive argued myself into it plenty of times, the number belongs to one customer so putting it up top feels like youre claiming it for everybody, and its narrow, well, specific, so it fights the bigger story youre telling investors, both of those are fair enough but i keep coming back to the buyer, theyve got other tabs open, they already know what the category is thats why theyre looking in the first place, what they dont have is any way to rank the four and a category sentence gives them nothing to rank on, so they fall back on price, and thats where you lose deals you should be winning so id just swap them, number up top, customer name in the line underneath so youre not overclaiming, category words down in the meta description where theyre actually doing something hour of work maybe less, but do the next three sections at the same time, otherwise you change the headline, bounce people on click two, and then decide the headline was the problem anyway thats it. submitted by /u/saas_brand_guy [link] [comments]
